Beth Buck Hired as New AVP for Human Resources

From Dr. Barry Olson: I wanted to officially welcome Beth Buck as our new Assistant Vice Provost for Human Resources – a new role to DASA, but one that we are excited to roll out. Beth will begin working for DASA January 4th, 2017.

In her new role, she will lead our Central Human Resources unit, and will become the chief point of contact for all things HR for the Division. As a member of the Business Administration Team, Beth will help us continue to develop HR strategy for the division and will provide consistent guidance for all HR-related processes and procedures. Beth’s Team consists of the following individuals (and the areas currently served):

Laura deFreitas

  • Office of the Vice Chancellor and Dean
  • University Housing
  • Academic Support Programs for Student Athletes
  • University College (excluding Arts NC State and ROTC)

Teresa Peters-Sneed

  • Student Development, Health and Wellness
  • Arts NC State
  • DASA Tech
  • ROTC

As of today, Laura and Teresa serve the units listed above. We are in the final stages of hiring a fourth member of the HR team.

As Beth takes the mantle of leadership, there will surely continue to be adjustments. Thank you in advance for your continued patience and please know if there is anything you need, and you aren’t completely sure who to contact, just send me a short note or give me a call. I’ll be happy to direct as appropriate.

We look forward to an exciting 2017!
